Robert will be joining James Taylor at Carnegie Hall on Wed. 4/20 for his ROOTS Concert, paying tribute to James’ musical influences! The other special guests include Jerry Douglas, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Danny Kortchmar and Alison Krauss. It should be a wonderful evening, filled with great music!

Gibson News reported that The Blues Foundation in Memphis, Tennessee, announced its 2011 inductees for the Blues Hall of Fame. Robert Cray was asked to lead the “Class of 2011” along with other very talented musicians: singer-guitarist John Hammond, singer-songwriter Denise LaSalle, vocalists Big Maybelle and Alberta Hunter, and singer-songwriter J.B. Lenoir.

Robert Cray has been known as one of the most popular artists in blues and soul music. Cray helped to shape the blues on the national scene in the 1980s with his breakthrough album Strong Persuader in 1986. His soulful and creative guitar work has been a dominant force in blues. Over the years Cray’s musical influence has been recognized and acknowledged. So be sure to check out The Blues Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at the Memphis Marriott Downtown in Memphis, Tennessee. Robert Cray will be taking part in this year’s New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival! The 2011 festival is scheduled for April 29 – May 1 and May 5-8, and Robert Cray will hit the stage on April 30th! Check out the Official festival press release HERE!
